PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS
. Pharm is a two year Post Graduate course. This course is designed to give a comprehensive and advanced knowledge and experimental skills regarding all aspects of drugs. This course comprises various subjects to give the knowledge and practical skills regarding the synthesis /extraction of drugs, formulation of drugs into various dosage form like tablets, capsules injections etc, analysis of drugs and dosage forms, testing of drugs and dosage forms on animals / human volunteers and the legal requirements for manufacture and sale of drugs and dosage forms by a company and discovery of new drugs and dosage forms. M.Pham course is available in various specialisation subjects.
The first year comprises of the study of coursework in two semesters. The second year is a research project work. At the end of the second year, the project work will be submitted in the form of a thesis to the respective university.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
For admission to the professional course like M.Tech, M.Arch, M. Pharm, the State Government, conducts an entrance exam called PGECET every year in the month of May/ June. The students are given ranking based on the marks obtained in the test.
Admissions are conducted by the Convenor TS-PGECET in a systematic manner by means of web counselling, based on the rank obtained in GPAT and for the remaining seats based on the PGECET rank. This an opportunity is given to the student to choose the course specialisation and college. 70% of seats are filled through the GPAT and PGECET ranks by the Convenor and 30% seats are filled by the management, based on the merit at PGECET / B.Pharm as per the State government prescribed rules from time to time.

The reservation in admissions is as per the State Government Reservation policy
SCHEDULE OF ADMISSIONS
Convenor (General) Quota: Category -A
Usually, the admissions by the PGECET Convenor start in July/Aug. or as per the schedule notified by the State Government every year However the schedule may vary from year to year. After the counselling, the leftover seats shall be filled by the colleges through spot admission procedure according to the rules prescribed by the State Government.
Management Quota: Category- B
The Management Seats (Category-B) are filled by the Management as per the schedule and rules prescribed by the State Government every year / from time to time
CURRICULUM & SYLLABUS
The University Board of Studies in Pharmacy notifies the academic calendar every year. The Board of Studies in Pharmacy of Osmania University decides the syllabus and the syllabus is reviewed as and when it is necessary.
